Ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 9)

An expert panel will address the impacts on forests and forest-dependent communities that would result from the release of genetically engineered trees into the environment. The panel will also look at the impacts of using GE trees as a feedstock for "second generation" cellulosic ethanol.
