The event will showcase the achievements of a regional network of environmental NGOs aiming at the synergy between CBD and UNCCD through field projects, information exchange, and knowledge transfer. Some of the highlighted projects include control of invasive plant species (water hyacinth in River Niger), conservation of threatened medical plant species through community botanical gardens, land restoration, sustainable use of natural resources. Also in display there will be several scientific and educational publications by this 3-year old network committed to disseminate and promote the uptake of innovative, indigenous technologies.
