Ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 9)

Launch of a multimedia publication "Affirming Life and Diversity" , followed by discussion with the women film makers, farmers and co-inquirers who made these films in South India. The video films document a long term process of regenerating biodiversity in local food systems- from seed to plate-, and the importance of local institutions in reclaiming diversity and rights. The event will highlight policies and practices that are relevant for the COP decisions on enhancing the role of producer organisations in the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity important for food and agriculture.
