ProÁrbol and the Climate Change

Ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 9)

In 2007, Mexico’s Government launched the ProÁrbol program that grants economic supports and also in species for the sustainable advantage of the forest resources and the combat at poverty within the inhabitants of the forest, tropical forests and arid areas of the country. Mexico presents to the world the main actions and achievements of ProÁrbol in 2007, referring to the conservation, forest restoration, advantage and management of the forest areas. Also, the explanation between ProÁrbol and the climatic change, through the actions of conservation of the forest mass and capture of CO2 emissions.
