Meeting
Fifth meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Review of Implementation of the Convention

This side event shall draw attention to the need for mainstreaming biodiversity into different areas/sectors at the national and international level. Since mainstreaming biodiversity is a crucial element for both the revision of NBSAPs and the current discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals there are lessons to be learned from both processes. The side event shall provide participants with inspiring stories, tools and possible solutions how mainstreaming can be achieved by portraying challenges and successes of the two processes and discuss how they can be mutually beneficial. This side event targets delegates who are currently involved in revising their countries NBSAP and delegates who are interested or even involved in the discussions on SDGs, nationally and internationally. It shall present some tools to help overcome internal and external obstacles.
