Island conservation is the hot issue nowadays. Life forms started from deep sea and flourished on islands. Roots up conservation action is very crucial to establish a long term support and impact on local people. Therefore, constant communication between different stake holders and massive environmental education to the public are the keys. In this event, we will have people to report their various successful projects on island, starts with scientists from Taiwan, Birdlife International on the unique rainforests of San Tome, and IUCN/SSC Invasive Species Specialist group on New Zealand. At the end, we will have Bird Conservation Nepal to share their experiences on environmental education to the urban community of Kathmandu Valley. Then we will have a penal discussion to lay out the island conservation goals, priority issues and effective strategies.
