This side-event presents the results of research to identify genetic resources and TK in UK international patent activity as part of a project with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and UK Intellectual Property Office. The project aimed to understand the origins of genetic resources in UK patent applications as a contribution to enhancing transparency about the utilisation of genetic resources under the Nagoya Protocol.
