This side event will focus on Conservation International's (CI) experiences in creating and then using our Guidelines on Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) in the field, with a particular focus on a case study from Ecuador. We will highlight the participatory process that helped to create CI's guidelines on FPIC, and continue the discussion on how they are currently being used by our staff around the world.
