Building on the key messages from the CBD-WHO State of Knowledge review “Connecting Global Priorities: Biodiversity and Human Health”, this side event will explore some of the avenues which Parties to the CBD may consider to promote dual health and biodiversity gains within National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans. The session will discuss recent case studies from several countries, including work on drivers of disease emergence, Biodiversity for Food and Nutrition, and environmental aspects of health inequalities, and will explore ecosystem approaches to health through land use planning, impact assessment, and other processes.
