Fourth meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Access and Benefit-sharing (WGABS 4)

To inform negotiation of an international instrument on access and benefit-sharing, the event will present lessons from the first ever agreement between indigenous communities and a CGIAR centre - the International Potato Centre - for repatriation of genetic resources. It will also present research on customary law for development of an Inter-Community Benefit-Sharing Agreement, and the role of these agreements in protecting Collective Bio-Cultural Heritage of Quechua communities.
