Description: Crafted from ancient oak that lay preserved in an Irish peat bog for about 5,000 years, the sculpture was carved by Irish artist Michael Thatcher.  Ireland features a range of different habitat types besides peat bogs, including farmland, open woodland, temperate forests, conifer plantations, and various coastal habitats.
