Notification 2023-132

Dear Madam/Sir, Reference is made to notification 2023-063 issued on 13 June 2023, inviting developing country Parties and Parties with economies in transition to consider, taking into account national circumstances, whether they are in a position to voluntarily assume the obligations of the developed country Parties in accordance with Article 20 of the Convention. A list of developed country Parties and other Parties which voluntarily assume the obligations of developed country Parties, was adopted by the Conference of the Parties at its first meeting (decision I/2, paragraph 1 and Annex II). An updated list of developed country Parties and other Parties that voluntarily assume the obligations of developed country Parties was adopted by the Conference of the Parties at its eighth meeting (decision VIII/18 , paragraph 1 and Annex). I would like to, once again, invite Parties, including developing country Parties and Parties with economies in transition, to review the list and indicate if they would like to be included in this list as soon as possible. I am also pleased to inform you that the deadline has been extended to 1 June 2024. In line with paragraph 47 (c) of decision 15/7, the Secretariat will compile indications received for consideration by the Conference of the Parties at its sixteenth meeting.
