Description This technical paper provides an overview of the current knowledge and understanding of adaptation to climate change; a framework for assessing technologies for adaptation to climate change; the process of technology development and transfer as relevant to adaptation to climatechange; examples of important technologies for adaptation in five sectors (coastal zones, water resources, agriculture, public health, and infrastructure), together with three case studies for each sector, and a synthesis of findings that have implications for climate policy.
