The Communitiy of Madrid (Spain) and the Sao Paulo State Government (Brazil) signed a MoU on December, 2020, to develop actions on bioeconomy and green&blue economy to support the implementation of the GBF - CBD. A working group was created and launched on June, 2021. This group aims to support the actions of subnational governments and local government, together with other players, like Parties (of the CBD), UN Agencies, companies and NGOs to support these actions. During the WBio2022, Madrid and Sao Paulo reinforced the importance of this theme to support other actions, like RWN - RegionsWithNature, CWN - CitiesWithNature, CSDB - Case Studies DataBase / R4BLP / Regions4 and the Edinburgh Process, while supporting actions on advocacy, like the AC-SNG, GoLS and AC-Cities. The three main objectives of this working group are: (i) exchange best practices, (ii) share the most important tools and (iii) support the promotion of good actions. The participation from the academic sector is important to reinforce the best options when selecting the best examples. Madrid and Sao Paulo are studying the invitation for universities from each region, like Universidad Complutense de Madrid and University of Sao Paulo, to join this effort. Other partners are being invited, and this event will be the opportunity to spread the innitiative and to debate indicators, tools and ways to move on with this group.
