The Sri Lanka Business and Biodiversity (SL B&B) Platform was established in October 2012 as an initiative of the collaborative partnership between the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and Dilmah Conservation. It is a nationally-owned member-driven initiative which acts as a knowledge and networking body for the private sector organizations in Sri Lanka which are committed to and are pursuing biodiversity and environmental conservation activities as a part of their core business and/or corporate social responsibility mandate.

The SL B&B Platform is backed by 23 Patron Members and has presently opened its doors to General Membership. The Platform’s current membership represents the banking and finance, engineering, information and communications technology, leisure and hospitality, manufacturing and production, and plantation and food sectors of the country.

The Platform’s services to its members include the provision of knowledge resources, technical support in biodiversity conservation initiatives, matchmaking between investors and implementing agencies, organization of knowledge and networking events, and publicity through varied communications channels. The Platform’s bi-monthly newsletter - ‘The New Standard’ - carries information and expert interviews on current themes of biodiversity conservation related issues.
