There can be no global food security without biodiversity, this is why the Food and Agriculture Organization has been actively promoting the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity for food and agriculture for more than 3 decades. FAO’s goal is to alleviate poverty and hunger by promoting sustainable agricultural development, improved nutrition, enhanced food security, and access to all people at all time the food they need for an active and healthy life.
