The main objective of the project is to pursue and develop the integration of poverty reduction and development issues in the different activities of the Secretariat: especially in the capacity building processes for the implementation of the NBSAP at different levels and in the different thematic’ and cross-cutting issues’ PoW. Therefore the main activity constitutes the long term capacity building to mainstream biodiversity in poverty eradication and development policies, programmes and planning processes for the implementation of the Strategic Plan.

1. Prepare, convene and follow up the Expert Group meeting on Biodiversity for Poverty eradication and development

2.Elaborate and disseminate a new series of Good Practice Guide for use in NBSAP
Para 15(c)(i) / budget: 90,000
(a) Food Security jointly with GGIAR and FAO
(b) Health jointly with WHO, UNICEF and COHAB
(c) Cities jointly with ICLE, AND Montreal city
and finalize and disseminate those on fisheries, mining, ecosystem goods and services, gender, ..(Execution partners: FAO, WHO, GGIAR, GIZ, AFD, UNICEF, CIRAD, COHAB...)

3. Develop and strengthen networks, data base, demonstrative projects and experiences -15 (c) (iiii) / budget: 40,000

4. Develop common safeguard policies and offset systems to facilitate and support the implementation of the Nagoya Declaration on Biodiversity in Development Cooperation
