1. Meeting of five experts to undertake the assessment of funding needs for GEF-6/ budget: 70,000
2. Six country case-studies on resource mobilization as part of developing NBSAP modules. Budget:180,000
(a) A call for experts issued, finalization of contracts is expected before end July 2011.
(b) A call for funding was issued to all potential donors, and co-financing is thus expected.
(c) Since this will be an independent study, the Secretariat is expected to ensure its implementation.
3. 2011 Global Monitoring Report will be focused on disseminating knowledge and know-how related to two areas identified in decision X/3 (funding indicators and innovative financial mechanisms)/budget: 100,000
(a) A call for submissions on funding indicators was already issued and responses are expected by July 2011
(b) A call for submissions on innovative financial mechanisms was already issued and responses are expected by July 2011
(c) An assessment and technical compilation of submissions will be conducted during the month of August 2011, and further course of action will be determined
(d) Provisionally, a workshop on funding indicators is planned in September-October 2011, with partners such as EC and OECD which are expected to provide co-financing
(e) Provisionally, a workshop on innovative financial mechanisms is planned in November-December 2011, in conjunction with the Leading Group on Innovative Financing for Development, with Norway, Sweden and Switzerland with potential co-financiers. |
