<br>The Iranian Department of Environment in collaboration with UNDP-GEF is formulating an integrated mechanism to effectively conserve biodiversity resources in Central Zagros Mountain Ecosystems in Western Iran. The project as a demonstration experience will bring together sustainable use of biodiversity and conservation campaigns in productive landscapes. Sustainable financing mechanisms for conservation of biodiversity (including alternative livelihoods, access and benefit sharing (ABS), Eco-tourism, etc.) would be addressed to reach development goals. Public participation both in designing and implementing of the project has a very prominent role. Designing procedures is coming to the end and the full project will commence in 4 months.
