The side event will highlight regional approach and joint actions of the pan-European biodiversity and forestry sectors that strengthen the implementation of CBD Expanded Programme of Work on Forest Biological Diversity and MCPFE commitments on forest biodiversity. The forest policy priorities in Europe will be underlined and the outcome of the 5th Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe will be reported. Current status and trends in European forests will be presented.
