Presentation of a joint position paper on forests, climate change and carbon markets which was signed by over 60 IPOs, NGOs and social movements, especially from the South, at the recent Conference of the Parties of the FCCC in Bali. It will include presentations by IPO and NGO representatives from different regions on their experiences and expectations regarding the Bali roadmap and proposals to Reduce Emissions from Deforestation (RED), including (1) the possible inclusion of forests in carbon markets and (2) a discussion of why the definition of forests is critical in relation to RED policies.
