Main strengths and weaknesses in management and key threats to protected areas as revealed by the assessment will be outlined and discussed. The revised Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool developed by the World Bank and WWF will be launched at the side event and plans for linking assessment information to the World Database on Protected Areas and the development of a dedicated website relating to management effectiveness of protected areas will be presented.
