Interactive Panel Discussion. In this interactive panel, experts from countries that are Parties to the Aarhus Convention will discuss some of the challenges they have encountered in promoting and facilitating public awareness and participation regarding GMOs as well as some good practices they have found to address these challenges. The panel will also discuss the Lucca Guidelines adopted by Aarhus Parties in 2003 and the 2005 amendment to the Aarhus Convention, both of which specifically address public awareness and participation regarding GMOs. Following the panel presentations there will be an opportunity for open discussion.
