This event will feature scientific and legal experts on ocean fertilization and other geoengineering technologies. Following the adoption of the CBD decision in 2008 which constituted a de facto moratorium on ocean fertilization, there have been many developments in the field of geoengineering. This session will provide a briefing on those developments and look forward to the policies that Parties to the CBD should be considering in the coming years.
