Meeting
Fourteenth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA 14)

Water is the most important natural resource on the planet. It is central to sustainable development. Achieving water security in the face of global over-use of water, and in the face of climate change, is already one of the highest environment issues on the political, business and public agendas. Ecosystems, underpinned by biodiversity, sustain water supply and its quality. Improved ecosystem management is one solution to achieving improved water security. The side event will explore needs and opportunities for the biodiversity community to engage more effectively in this subject and by doing so increase the relevance of the CBD to broader interest groups.
