The ABS Capacity Development Initiative and its national and international partners present experiences and lessons learned while building capacities of African stakeholders to develop and implement national ABS regulations. Focus will be set on the enabling R&D environment for bioprospecting activities in African countries touching upon specific topics such as ABS in protected areas, forest governance and ABS, as well as communicating ABS.
