<p>This event will feature the launch of a new book entitled: <a href=http://www.biodiv.org/doc/publications/bs-brochure-03-en.pdf>The Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety: A record of the Negotiations </a>, published by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. The book presents an analysis of the evolution of the Protocol’s provisions, article-by-article, including the different views that were expressed during the negotiations. The draft of the publication was prepared by the Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development (FIELD) over a two-year period, upon request by the CBD Secretariat.</p><p>Hamdallah Zedan, Executive Secretary of the CBD, will make brief remarks and introduce Ruth Mackenzie who will give a short presentation of the book on behalf of FIELD</p>
