The UNEP Global Environmental Outlook and how it relates to CBD

Over more that ten years, UNEP has established a process for regular delivery of a peer-reviewed state of environment report, the Global Environmental Outlook. There is clear potential both for ensuring that this report and the associated process are of more direct value to the CBD, and for ensuring that there are better links between the two processes. The purpose of this side event is to brief SBSTTA participants on the GEO process, and to seek their advice on how to increase two-way collaboration in the future.
