Topic 1: Examples and case studies on collective action of indigenous peoples and local communities

In response to paragraph 29 of decision XII/3, participants are invited to provide information on the contribution of collective action to biodiversity conservation, including on experiences and lessons learned in applying pertinent methodologies.

Topic 2: How can values underpin valuation of collective action and biodiversity, and later metrics?

In response to paragraph 30(a) of decision XII/3, participants are expected to contribute to the development of methodologies and experiences on evaluating the contribution, both in terms of results (benefits) and inputs (costs and avoided costs), of collective action to biodiversity conservation and financing.

Topic 3: Characterizing the contribution of collective action of indigenous and local communities, and exploring pertinent terminologies

Participants are invited to contribute to building common understanding of key terms used in the dialogue on the contribution of collective action of indigenous and local communities. What terms are involved? How are the terms defined under your national/organizational context? What are your perspectives on these terms?

Topic 4: Reporting on the contribution of collective action of indigenous peoples and local communities

In response to paragraph 30(c) of decision XII/3, participants are expected to contribute to the development of guidance on how to report on the contribution of collective action of indigenous peoples and local communities. What topics needs to be discussed related to data, such as availability, and what data needs to be collected? or What kind of data needs to be collected, and how could it be done in the best way? Are there any examples where it had been done? How to work with aggregation of data related to collective action? What methods do you suggest to estimate contribution using closest equivalents?

Topic 5: Contribution of collective action of indigenous peoples and local communities for the achievement of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and the Aichi Biodiversity Targets

In response to paragraph 30(b) of decision XII/3 and paragraph 18 of decision XII/1, participants are expected to contribute to the development of financial and technical assistance and additional key actions.
