Environmentally Harmful Subsidies: Linkages between subsidies, the environment and the economy |
| Description |
|
The main objective of this report is to explore the linkages between subsidies and the possible harmful environmental consequences. Largely based on secondary sources, this report synthesises and critically assesses the extent and impact of environmentally harmful subsidies in environmental policy. The intended audience is the parties that are involved in environmental policy making but have little or no knowledge of harmful subsidies. The report should be seen as an overview of some of the existing literature and knowledge in the area. The report is basically divided into two main parts. I. Definitions and theoretical background II. Empirical examples of the usage of subsidies in different sectors and the linkage to environmental damage |
