E-learning materials on Mainstreaming
Over the 2017-2018 biennium the Secretariat implemented a project, entitled “Integrated implementation of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, the Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability and Redress and the Convention on Biological Diversity”. The project was generously supported by the Government of Japan, through the Japan Biodiversity Fund. Building on the findings at the national level, the Secretariat, in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde, Centre for Environmental Law and Governance, developed an e-learning module, toolkit and strategy tool to facilitate integrated implementation at the national level. These e-learning materials are also available on the E-learning Platform in English, French and Spanish. More information on past activities under the project is available here.
Biosafety Technical Series
A legislative study on the mainstreaming of biosafety was also developed as part of the Biosafety Technical Series published by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. The legislative study aims at assisting Parties in achieving the integrated implementation of the Cartagena Protocol. Its target audience may include both those engaged, at the national level, in the development and implementation of biosafety-related legislation, and those engaged in the development and implementation of cross-sectoral and sectoral policies and laws that are indirectly relevant to biosafety.
