Dear Madam/Sir, I am pleased to inform Parties and observers that the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity is organizing a global webinar to launch the CBD Technical Series No. 100 on Synthetic Biology, on 27 April 2022, from 8.00 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. EDT (GMT-4). This webinar is organized in response to COP decision 14/19, which requested the Executive Secretary to update the Technical Series on Synthetic Biology and to further pursue cooperation with other organizations, conventions and initiatives on issues related to synthetic biology, including the exchange of experiences and information. The webinar will take place virtually using the GoToWebinar platform and will be held in English only. Registered participants will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information on how to join the session. The webinar will be recorded and made available on the Cartagena Protocol website to accommodate those who will not be able to take part.
