Selected Experts for the CBD Expert Workshop to Prepare Practical Guidance on Preventing and Mitigating the Significant Adverse Impacts of Marine Debris on Marine and Coastal Biodiversity and Habitats, 2 to 4 December 2014 - Baltimore, United States of America
Dear Madam/Sir, In notification number 2014-059, dated 23 April 2014, the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity invited Parties, other Governments, indigenous and local communities and relevant organizations to nominate experts to participate in the CBD Expert Workshop to Prepare Practical Guidance on Preventing and Mitigating the Significant Adverse Impacts of Marine Debris on Marine and Coastal Biodiversity and Habitats, to be held from 2 to 4 December 2014, in Baltimore, United States of America. This workshop is being organized by the Secretariat, pursuant to paragraph 26 of decision XI/18, with financial support from the European Commission. In this regard, I am pleased to announce that the selection of experts has been completed, in accordance with the selection criteria described in the above-mentioned notification. The list of selected experts is attached in the annex to this notification. The Secretariat will provide financial assistance to selected experts from developing country Parties.
