Survey on Gender Responsive Monitoring of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework

Dear Madam/Sir, In line with decision 14/34 (https://www.cbd.int/doc/decisions/cop-14/cop-14-dec-34-en.pdf), in which the Conference of Parties agreed that the process to develop the post-2020 global biodiversity framework would be gender responsive; the Secretariat, in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), is working to support a gender responsive approach to measurement and reporting of the post-2020 framework. Towards this end, IUCN has prepared a survey for Parties to provide inputs on their strengths and challenges in measuring gender considerations related to biodiversity, and the support needed to do so. The survey is intended to support the identification of key entry points and needs for addressing gender considerations in the post-2020 monitoring framework. As the survey is focused on country capacity, the Secretariat would like to encourage National Focal Points and/or SBSTTA Focal Points, and other relevant Government officials, to complete the survey. The results of the survey will inform a brief to be made available to Parties and stakeholders, to support considerations under the third meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework and related meetings under the Convention. The survey has been prepared in English, French and Spanish and will be accessible at the following links until 30 July 2021. English: https://forms.gle/sRBf1MkpSLJSY7Bp9 French: https://forms.gle/nq9BbZg1eE22bcE26 Spanish: https://forms.gle/KLdEy24htFrKNuxU6 Thank you for your cooperation and continued support to the process of the preparation of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. Please accept, Madam/Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration.
