Dear Madam/Sir, In support to Decision VIII/19 4(a) of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity on strengthening collaboration with members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests, I would like to call your attention to an independent consultative process on a possible Global Forest Partnership (GFP), organized by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), on behalf of the World Bank. The Secretariat encourages you to contribute to the consultation process, which is open from 1 October to 30 November 2007 and comprises 15 questions on objectives, possible activities, possible partners, governance and funding of a GFP.
