REMINDER: Nomination for the ad hoc technical expert group (AHTEG) meeting on addressing the risks associated with the introduction of invasive alien species as pets, aquarium and terrarium species, as live bait and live food, 2-4 February 2011, Geneva, Switzerland

Dear Madam/Sir, This is in reference to notification 2010-204 dated 12 November 2010, available at: https://www.cbd.int/doc/notifications/2010/ntf-2010-204-ias-en.pdf , calling for nominations for the ad hoc technical expert group (AHTEG) meeting on addressing the risks associated with the introduction of invasive alien species as pets, aquarium and terrarium species, as live bait and live food in 2-4 February 2011. I extend my gratitude to those countries and organizations which have responded to the notification and nominated a delegate to participate in the meeting (Cambodia, Canada, Cuba, Czech Republic, Gabon, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, Mongolia, Panama, Republic Democratic of the Congo, Saint Lucia, Spain, Switzerland, Action Centre for Rural Community Development Cameroon, Council of Europe, GISP and IUCN-SSC-ISSG). I call upon the remaining countries to kindly submit their nomination of one delegate by 15 December 2010, to allow time for the Secretariat to make necessary arrangements for eligible developing countries to attend the meeting. Due to budgetary constraints, funding for nominations received past this date cannot be guaranteed. Please provide the name and coordinates of your nominee with his/her Curriculum Vitae via official letter addressed to the Executive Secretary (scanned and sent via email to secretariat@cbd.int, or faxed to +1 (514) 288-6588).
