Signing Ceremony for the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit-sharing, 11 May 2011, United Nations Headquarters, New York

Dear Madam/Sir, Following the opening for signature of the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization on 2 February 2011, I am pleased to inform you that the following six countries have signed: Colombia, Yemen, Algeria, Brazil, Mexico and Rwanda. In this regard, I wish to inform you that the Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations will organize a signing ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 11 May 2011 at the occasion of the High Level Segment of the 19th session of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development.
