Notification 2015-033

Deadline extension for the nominations for the international technical expert workshop on identifying, accessing, compiling and aggregating domestic and international biodiversity-related investments and impacts, 5 to 7 May 2015, Mexico City, Mexico

Dear Madam/Sir, I would like to refer to notification 2015-022, dated 3 March 2015, calling for nominations from Parties for the international technical expert workshop on identifying, accessing, compiling and aggregating domestic and international biodiversity-related investments and impacts that will be held from 5 to 7 May 2015 in Mexico City, Mexico. and which can be found at: http://www.cbd.int/doc/notifications/2015/ntf-2015-022-fin-en.pdf . I was made aware that several Governments are still in the process of nominating experts and, in light of the limited number of nominations received to date, and in order to ensure fair and equitable geographical distribution, as well as gender balance, I decided to extend the deadline for submission of these nominations to 27 March 2015. Parties that have not yet done so are kindly invited to submit their nomination through an official signed letter addressed to the Executive Secretary and clearly indicating the name and full contact information, including the e-mail address, of the representative. The nomination should also include a curriculum vitae (CV) indicating pertinent expertise and an indication of the national experiences to be shared. Experts will be selected among nominees on the basis of relevant expertise and experiences with regard to the issues to be discussed, taking into account geographical and gender balance. The nomination letter and CV can either be scanned and e-mailed as an attachment to the Secretariat at secretariat@cbd.int or faxed to + 1 514 288 6588. Please be informed that the participation of one nominated and selected technical expert from each eligible country Party will be supported with direct, economy-class round-trip ticket and a Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) for the duration of the workshop, to be provided in accordance with relevant United Nations rules. I thank you for your usual cooperation and for your continued support for the work of the Convention. Please accept, Madam/Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration.
