Notification 2017-023

CANCELLED: Nominations for the NAP Expo 2017, from 11 to 13 April 2017, in Bonn, Germany

Dear Madam/Sir, Reference is made to notification SCBD/SPS/DC/SK/AC/86299 (2017-013) sent on 17 February 2017 in which the Secretariat invited you to nominate an expert to participate in the NAP Expo 2017 organized by the Least Developed Countries Expert Group under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. I regret to inform you that the NAP Expo 2017 has been postponed by one year. I have been informed by the Chair of the Least Developed Countries Expert Group that the meeting will take place in April 2018, instead of April 2017, as originally planned due to circumstances beyond their control. As new arrangements are yet to be confirmed, the nomination process must be cancelled at this time. The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity will continue discussions with the Least Developed Countries Expert Group on possible collaboration for future meetings of the NAP Expo with the aim of enhancing synergies between biodiversity and climate change planning processes at the national level. I thank you for your understanding. Please accept, Madam/Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration.
