EXTENSION OF DEADLINE: Submission of information regarding the conservation and sustainable use of pollinators

Dear Madam/Sir, I wish to refer to notification 2017-030 dated 27 March 2017, inviting Parties, other Governments and relevant organizations to provide information on relevant national initiatives and activities to promote the conservation and sustainable use of pollinators. This invitation was made in response to the request of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in its decision XIII/15. I would like to thank Parties, other Governments and relevant organizations that have provided submissions. For those that have not yet done so, the deadline has been extended. The information provided will be compiled and used as an input for the preparation of the documents for consideration by Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice, at its twenty-second meeting (SBSTTA 22). In order to facilitate the timely preparation of documentation, contributions should be submitted as soon as possible and no later than 31 July 2017. I would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations agreed to extend their survey on the status of honey bees worldwide and other pollinator populations.
