Dear Madam/Sir, The Secretariat would like to inform you about the organization of a series of information briefings in preparation for the twenty-fourth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA 24). The first round of the information briefings includes four webinars, as follows: • Webinar 1 - Tuesday, 30 June 2020 (focus on time zones for Americas, Europe, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe) • Webinar 2 - Thursday, 2 July/Friday 3 July 2020 (focus on time zones for Asia and Pacific) • Webinar 3 - Friday, 3 July 2020 (focus on time zones for Americas) • Webinar 4 - Tuesday 7 July 2020 (focus on time zones for Europe, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East) The webinars will provide a description of the overall post-2020 process and related SBSTTA 24 agenda item 3. They will offer an opportunity for all Parties, observers and stakeholders to have a debrief on the overall post-2020 process, the approach and scenario towards the fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 15), as well as the documents for SBSTTA 24 related to goals, targets, monitoring framework and indicators for the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. These information sessions are also designed to facilitate the peer review process for pre-session and associated information documents. The four webinars will be held between 30 June and 7 July 2020 and conducted in English, covering various time zones (please refer to Annexes 1 and 2 for webinar schedule and contact details, and Annex 3 for the agenda). Participants will be able to join the date and time slot that is most convenient for them. One of the webinars, excluding the Questions & Answers session, will be recorded and made available on the CBD website, to accommodate those who will not be able to take part. The second round of briefings will be on SBSTTA 24 agenda items 4 to 10. Further details on dates and times will be announced later.
