Webinar on the launch of Biosafety Technical Series 05: Training Manual on the Detection and Identification of Living Modified Organisms (LMOs) in the Context of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety

Dear Madam/Sir, I am pleased to inform Parties and observers that the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity is organizing a global webinar to launch the Biosafety Technical Series 05: Training Manual on Detection and Identification of Living Modified Organisms (LMOs) in the Context of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, on 25 April 2022, from 8.00 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. EDT (GMT-4). This webinar is organized in response to COP MOP decision 9/11, which requested the Executive Secretary to review and finalize the manual on detection and identification of LMOs, and to continue efforts to collaborate with relevant organizations to build the capacity of developing countries in relation to the detection and identification of LMOs in the context of Article 17 of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. The webinar will take place virtually using the GoToWebinar platform and will be held in English only.
