Extension of deadline: Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability and Redress - measures to provide for financial security for damage from living modified organisms

Dear Madam/Sir, Reference is made to notification 2023-109 issued on 16 October 2023, inviting Parties to the Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability and Redress and other Governments to submit information to the Executive Secretary on measures they have in place to provide for financial security for damage from living modified organisms, in particular where they have reported having such measures in place in their fourth national reports. I would like to thank Parties and other Governments that have submitted information and to invite those that have not yet done so, to submit any relevant information as soon as possible. I am also pleased to inform you that the deadline to submit information has been extended to 18 December 2023. Kindly note that the information should be submitted through the Biosafety Clearing-House using the Submission (SUB) common format accessible at the following link: https://bch.cbd.int/en/register/SUB/new. The submission should include a signed endorsement by the national focal point for the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. Full instructions on how to upload submissions are provided here.
