Honorary Ambassador for the 2010 United Nations Biodiversity Conference
To promote public awareness of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the United Nations has appointed the Japanese female singer and songwriter, MISIA, as the Honorary Ambassador for the tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the CBD (COP10). As honorary ambassador, MISIA will work to bring attention in Japan and around the world to COP10 in Nagoya, Japan, to the issue of biodiversity, and to actions being carried out to support the objectives of the CBD during the two years that Japan serves as President of the CBD COP.

COP10 Official Song “LIFE IN HARMONY”
In August 2010, MISIA produced a song “LIFE IN HARMONY” with David Foster, a world-famous music producer. In September, CBD Secretariat officially certified “LIFE IN HARMONY” as the COP10 official song. MISIA performed “LIFE IN HARMONY” at the opening ceremony for COP10 on 18 October and the closing event of the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity on 18 and 19 December.

In 2006, the CBD Secretariat established a
Museum of Nature and Culture. Since that time, numerous governments and organizations have contributed exhibits to the museum. On 1 November 2011, MISIA donated a
fabulous silk kimono to the CBD Museum of Nature and Culture.
