30 May 2011 - Southeast Asia launch of the Decade on Biodiversity and International Year of Forests was held at the foot of Mount Makiling in Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines. Led by Dr. Ahmed Djoghlaf, Executive Director Rodrigo Fuentes of the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity, Secretary of Environment, with the participation of the Resident Ambassadors of the ten ASEAN Member States (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam), heads of international and scientific institutions and conservation organizations. A tree planting activity was conducted in line with the Green Wave and International Year of Forests.
