Bealtaine Living Earth Festival, 21-29 May 2016


Calmast, in partnership with other organizations, present The Bealtaine Living Earth Festival: it celebrates Biodiversity and Natural Heritage in the Southeast of Ireland with over 40 events for over 2,000 people. The International Day for Biological Diversity is incorporated in the festival and there are 2 special events on 22 May for the general public:

Variety is the Spice of Life - A guided walk exploring the variety of the trees and plants at the JFK Arboretum learning about the importance of biodiversity. At 11am and 3pm JFK Arboretum County Wexford.

Sea Creature Identification and Squid Dissection - This workshop will prepare people (especially families) to explore rockpools and tidal habitats and to learn about how different creatures are adapted to this environment. This activity is run by Oceanics Surf School in Tramore County Waterford in conjunction with the Marine Institute’s Explorers Programme promoting Ocean Literacy.
