  Symposium: Mainstreaming Biodiversity - Forests, Countryside, Rivers and Sea sustaining people and their livelihoods

環境省、国連大学サスティナビリティ高等研究所、地球パートナーシッププラザは、５月２１日に、「生物多様性の主流化－人々と暮らしを支える森里川海」をテーマに、国際生物多様性の日シンポジウムを開催します。シンポジウムでは、私たちの暮らしを支えている森里川海について改めて考え、生物多様性を生かした持続可能な社会づくりに向けて、ライフスタイルの見直しや森里川海を支える仕組みづくりについて考えます。

The Ministry of the Environment, Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability and Global Environment Outreach Center will hold a symposium of International Day for Biological Diversity, on May 21st. The main theme of the symposium is “Mainstreaming Biodiversity ? “Forests, Countryside, Rivers and Sea sustaining people and their livelihoods”.

In this symposium, we will once again think about “Nature’s blessing from Forests, Countryside, Rivers and Sea”, and in order to create a sustainable society through the conservation of biodiversity discuss reviewing individual’s lifestyle and creating systems which support the management of “Forests, Countryside, Rivers and Sea”.

IUCN-J is planning a web campaign to raise awareness on the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and the Nijyumaru Project, which includes a quiz. The winner selected among people who answer all correctly will receive Njyumaru-member's goods. The web campaign is from 18 May starting at noon, and ending at 6pm(JPT) on 27 May.

One Origami Action, 22 May 2016
One Origami Action Workshop is held at the Nagoya City Science Museum. Volunteers welcome both children and adults to support making Origami and thinking about our life and biodiversity.
