Title: Nyctereutes procyonoides
Description: It is primitive canid with unique feature amongst canids, hibernation. The original distribution of the raccoon dog  covers large areas of the Far East. The first introduction into Europe took place about 1928, when 415 females were released at various localities. Other released followed, however, with 8651 individuals  between 1929 and 1967. Since 1950s the population has increased rapidly.
