National Legislation on Biological Diversity
Dear Madam/Sir, I am pleased to inform you that the Secretariat of the Convention intends to develop a database of national legislation and regulations of relevance to the implementation of the three objectives of the Convention and with a view of preparing a manual on best practices and lessons-learned. In this regard, I would be grateful if you could transmit to the Secretariat at your earliest convenience but preferably before 29 September 2006 existing laws in your country dealing with the conservation and the sustainable use of biological diversity as well as access to genetic resources and benefit-sharing. I would also be grateful to receive any information regarding experiences with their implementation and any obstacles encountered. I thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter and your continued support to the work of the Convention.
