Notification 2006-063

Dear Madam/Sir, I would like to invite Parties, other governments and relevant organizations to submit information to the Secretariat on links between mountain biodiversity, sustainable development and poverty alleviation. In paragraph 13 of decision VII/27 on mountain biological diversity, the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity requests the Executive Secretary to compile and disseminate information linking mountain biodiversity to sustainable development and poverty alleviation. This information can include (i) general reports/studies, (ii) case studies, (iii) best practices, (iv) lessons learned, and (v) academic articles. Parties, other governments and relevant organizations are invited to submit information, along with the completed attached cover form (Annex), at their earliest convenience but no later than 22 December 2006. I thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter and your continued support to the work of the Convention. Please accept, Madam/Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration.
